The Oxnard Inn Lancaster receives mixed reviews, with some guests praising its affordability, included amenities like free breakfast and dinner, and friendly staff. However, significant concerns regarding cleanliness, staff service, and property conditions, particularly roach infestations and questionable surrounding areas, have been repeatedly raised.
Great hotel if you are out of town and need a cheap and safe place to stay. Jasper real made us feel safe and welcomed very standup, respect, handsome young man definitely recommend here. They also have security patrolling over night so your car is safe!
I had some serious issues with Expedia, but Jasper at the front took care of everything. I called ahead and he was able to give me a better price than Expedia anyway. He was great. The room was clean and nice, free breakfast burrito in the morning. It was a great stay.
Honestly I have recently been pretty disappointed by the rude service that I've received from the staff. Not sure what is causing the decline in customer service however I was surprised by staff members like Kelsey who speak in a condescending manner to guests over the phone. I have not received this kind of poor customer service from other more reputable hotels. Also disappointed by lack of follow thru with discussions with manager Ajay or AJ. I hope that service at this hotel can improve as service had been good years ago, not sure why there has been a decline in hospitality and professionalism as of late.
Stayed in room 247 last week and it was like Joe's apartment. Roaches started coming from everywhere after we went to sleep. They did whoever quickly switch us to another room but I wanted to leave and they wouldn't refund the money. The new room was roach free but hard to sleep after that
WARNING: Don't go to room 247! It was infested with roaches! A big roach on the microwave, 4 roaches on the walls in the kitchen area, a roach in the bathroom! Ew! STAFF: Well, the staff are friendly and they did give us another room on the first floor. My husband and I are currently sleeping in it now. It is 11:37 pm and I cannot sleep! FOOD: They do have a bar area and they give you a complimentary ticket to get alcohol from the bar and a meal ticket. I did have a chance to look at someone's food they had in front of them. I will opt out. Nonetheless, nice people, good customer service, no drama.
Great price. .Nice place to stay, staff was amazing, front desk gal and guy were top notch and extremely helpful!. Free breakfast and free dinner and a drink each night! Hint: don't get the breakfast burrito but the actual breakfast was yummy! Room was clean and had everything one would need. I'd def come back.
We made our reservations on line for 2 nights and we were unaware of the condition of the surroundings of the hotel. There was a Mari Calendars restaurant next door that looked like it had been abandoned for years. There were homeless people all around it. There was a drive thru dairy in the parking lot that had sketchy people hanging around it. We checked in and that went ok. The hotel looks like it went through a name change from the Oxford to the Oxnard based on the sign outside. The carpets were dirty and the elevator was all tagged with graffiti. Our room was clean, but not as big as the picture showed. It was cramped for 2 people with luggage you could not put anywhere. The refrigerator didn’t have a small freezer and the microwave was on the bathroom sink so there was no room for 2 people to put anything on. I went down to have breakfast at 7am and I was wearing nice PJ’s because I was going to go back to our room and eat. They have a cook making eggs and burritos and I could see they had bacon, potatoes and eggs. There was only 3 people in the dinning area and no one was ordering cooked food. I asked for a bacon and egg burrito. The cook was short with me and asked for a ticket. I told him that I didn’t have one and didn’t know I needed one. He said he couldn’t give me anything without a ticket. I told him that I am in my PJ’s, he told me that I could be a homeless person who just walked in. Wow! Telling a customer your homeless!!. I then understood why they give out tickets. I went to the front desk and told them what was going on and they gave me a ticket with no issue. I went back to the cook and gave him a ticket and asked for a bacon and egg burrito. He said he only has sausage and egg burrito made. Ok, the grill is hot, there is bacon and eggs in the hot pans, but he couldn’t make one. I said ok, I would like some bacon and eggs. He cooked up 2 eggs and gave me some bacon. I could see the flour tortilla but he could not make one. I thought this was insane. The cook was very rude. We were there for 2 days and I ate breakfast at a restaurant the next day to avoid being treated like a homeless person. As we were leaving, we personally saw one apparent homeless and confused man who kicked a car with an elderly lady in it while in the hotel parking lot, he then yelled at the car and threw a rock hitting the car. I asked if she was ok and she was shook up, but not injured (Our son was homeless so we understand what they are going threw and some are having mental issues). My wife and I would never set foot on this property if they paid us. The motel 6 would be better. Changing the name from the Oxford to the Oxnard is like putting lipstick on a pig.
I had made reservations a couple weeks in advance. Upon arrival at the Oxnard Inn we were greeted by a lady that had said that the only room available was on the 4th floor. (My niece checked in about an hour before and was given a room on the 2nd floor.) Although when she contacted someone on the radio the person said that the room was not ready yet. Then she said she had a room on the 3rd floor. We were given room 336. A good walk from the elevator. I would have assumed that I would have been given a room closer to the elevator since I was using a cane. Oh well. It wasn't that long of a walk. The room was nice. The bed was very comfortable. TV, refrigerator, microwave, iron and board, and a small coffee maker (didn't use anything). Nothing much to complain about except the very worn and torn couch. The elevator had a torn wall panel. And the floor indicator lights didn't work. The free breakfast with the room was very nice. A cook was on hand to cook your eggs along with your potatoes and sausage. Toast, muffins, waffles, juices, cereal. No complaints here. The room was $140 for the night and the check-in time was 4pm with a check-out time of 11am. Not even a full 24 hours. Had I noticed the check-in of 4pm when I made the reservations I would have looked for another hotel with an earlier check-in time. When I contacted the Oxnard Inn again about the time they said they could make an earlier check-in time for an additional cost. I wanted to cancel my reservation, but I had missed the cancellation date by 1 day. I was in the area for a wedding and so I'll never be staying here ever again. Be aware of your reservations and times before you pay for a hotel. Plus the hotel charged my credit card when I made the reservation. And then a $50 security deposit upon arrival.
Great staffing most of All of them are very kind professional . The establishment was very clean and accommodating even at their busiest of times they stayed cheerful host. Pool side is comfortable they have propane grills for celebrating. Amazing fireworks show the location is decent Denny's and IHOP both close parks the highway and down Lancaster great stay I'll return for sure. My children also agree
